Campbell Brown Has Another Temper Tantrum

It seems Campbell Brown has a new hobby, throwing hissy fits if president-elect Obama does not behave the way she thinks he should. This is the second time I have listened to her have a tantrum on CNN because Obama did not answer a question in a press conference. Poor thing.

Ms. Brown’s views on their role:

“Their role is not to support President-elect Barack Obama, but to challenge him, to do their best to hold him accountable.”

Or could it be, Ms. Brown, to create the news, just to make you happy? Or is it just so you can have the “exclusive”? I think so.

Barack Obama when questioned about the investigation concerning the current governor of Illinois responded appropriately about an ongoing investigation.

“Mr. President-elect, this is the second time I have observed you doing this.  Cutting off a reporter because the questions didn’t suit you.

Mr. President-elect, this sort or approach reminds me of the current administration now packing up to go, and it frankly doesn’t fly in a democracy.

You don’t get to choose the questions you get asked at a news conference.”

Oh, really, Ms. Brown, stomp your feet a bit harder because he did not respond to the question the way you wanted him to answer.  And comparing him to Bush, that is just rich!

She went on:

“You have an extraordinarily high approval rating right now.  People are pulling for you.  These are desperate times for many Americans and most of this country wants you to succeed.  But you will not succeed if you discard the very ideals you promoted during your campaign: directness, honesty, candor, transparency, openess.”

That sounds like a threat, Ms. Brown.  So you think threatening a person just because you do not like the way a person responds to a questions is appropriate? Well, Ms. Brown, let me remind you that we, your viewers, can just as easily turn the channel when we do not like watching you throw a hissy fit, because you insist on promoting tabloid journalism.  Really, Ms. Brown, you do not give your viewers enough credit for seeing through your bull.

  1. I agree. Campbell’s comments leave a lot to be desired. The U.S. Attorney General has concurred that he asked Obama to hold off any comments on the Blagovich matter, and Obama is simply allowing the legal process to play out. Is this so bad for a newly elected president to do? Does she truly expect or want less? She, thus far, leaves a lot to be desired.

  2. Oh dear…
Obama didn’t kneel and kiss the reporter’s hand so he must be testy.

Wow, what a hack she has become!

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is all some half-hearted effort to present a “we’re challenging the president” stance to avoid any accusations of bias toward Obama.

In that regard they may have turned into Fox Noise.
I hope this is just a momentary lapse in judgement for the execs.

  3. She’s just . . . trippin’. She’s gotten progressively more whiny lately as she’s gotten progressively more pregnant. Is that sexist of me to say? I used to listen and at least understand where she was coming from, but her petulance of late (Hillary Clinton, Ed Rendell, President-elect Obama) is just out of control.

  4. I couldn’t have said it better myself. The thing that is really starting to annoy me is that Obama hasn’t even taken office yet. When has ANY other president-elect held so many press conferences, made himself so available to the press before the inauguration, been so transparent before stepping one foot into the Oval Office?? That would be never. Their expectations are so high for Obama. I mean, mine are too, but we need to be a little bit realistic here. Campbell needs to get real. Thanks.

  5. […] Then it was the Gay and Lesbian community, with Rick Warren.  Now it’s women.  From Campbell Brown to NOW, he’s either not being forthcoming enough, or else he hasn’t done any better in […]
