The Supreme Court Rejects Obama Citizenship Case

i-1The Supreme Court rejected an attempt Monday to declare Barack Obama ineligible to be president.

The Court turned down a long-shot emergency appeal from a New Jersey man who claimed that Obama could not serve as president because he had dual nationality at birth. Since his mother was an American and his Kenyan father was a British subject, he failed to meet the constitutional standard of being a “natural born” citizen,” argued Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick, N.J., in his appeal.

The Court denied the request without providing an explanation.

Will it ever end the complete madness of some to make the wild assertion that Obama is not an American? This is just one of many lawsuits that claim that Obama is not an American; therefore, ineligible to be President of the United States. Thankfully this lawsuit was presented to the United States Supreme Court, first to one Justice, then to Justice Clarence Thomas who took the case to the other Justices. The practice of taking a case to on justice and then another until every Justice approached with the case until the Court agrees to consider hearing the case is not unusual. Justice Thomas’ response as the second Justice approach is common of Justices to take the case to the others simply ends the charade of the case. I must say that is the rare moment in time when I actually agree with Clarence Thomas in ending this stupidity.

Barack Obama was born on American to soil to an American woman. His birth certificate clearly reads that it is a Hawaiian birth certificate. Even though his father was a British subject, thus giving Obama dual citizenship, when Obama reached the age of 21 he let his British citizenship expire. It is really that simple. Obama is just as much an American as I am someone whose roots date back to 17th Century colonialism.

John McCain’s status as natural born citizen was challenged when he first threw his hat in the ring because he was born to American service personnel in Panama. One person did start a lawsuit in an attempt to disqualify him from the presidency, but it was thrown out of court. Once that happened not on more word was breathed about his qualifications to be President of the United States, but not with Obama. It lived on and on. Clearly, this obsession with Obama’s status as a natural born citizen can really only be attributed to one thing, racism.
