A Tale of Two Presidents

Americans and the world are caught in a holding pattern when it comes to the leader of the United States. The current president, George W. Bush, is the most unpopular president in the last sixty years and is leaving the Office and the country in a disgraceful condition: two wars and an economy that is in a meltdown, the likes of which have not been seen since the Great Depression. Then there is president elect, Barack Obama, young, inspiring, with very high approval ratings for an incoming president. He exudes confidence and appears to be ready to lead, and we are ready for it. We want to move on; we do not want any more of President Bush.

As Americans and as well as the rest of the world all we can do is wait for January 20th when Barack Obama is sworn in. In the mean time, we must accept that Barack Obama is doing the most he can in selecting his new cabinet and taking command of a beleaguered country. He is a president elect. We must accept that until January 20th arrives George W. Bush is still the president of the United States.

  3. Cool your horses, every 4 years the United States holds elections and elect or re-elected our President of the United States (POTUS). The sitting POTUS is our POTUS until the newly elected POTUS is sworn in. The POTUS elect has no power relative to teh Excutive Office . The Blogger who says we have two half POTUS’s, well he is not very good at math, 2 halves equal a whole.
