The Truth is Out

I have been outraged over the blatant bigotry and mob mentality coming from the McCain campaign and for good reason. It has nothing to do with the 2008 election; it has everything to do with being behind in the polls, losing ground, and not having a plan or message that resonates with Americans. It also has to do with the Republican Party overall because has become apparent that they are going to lose a lot of seats in both Houses and it scares them, so they are spewing out McCarthyist tactics. In short, they are desperate.

McCain’s campaign is no longer about issues. He and his supporters want to bring up anything and everything to derail Obama, and nothing is sticking, so they just keep returning to their old bag of tricks.

In the past two weeks, we’ve seen Minnesota Republican Rep. Michelle Bachmann make one of the most audacious statements ever, suggesting that Obama holds anti-American views, that other members of Congress have the same views, and that the media should launch a widespread investigation to ferret them out.

No, seriously, she said that on MSNBC’s “Hardball.”

I saw that interview and it was horrific. This Republican is getting everything she deserves, hardball campaigning from the Democratic Party in Minnesota. McCarthyism was a horrible period in our recent past and it needs to stay there. It is a dangerous mentality that could have horrible implications for average Americans, like you and I. We do not have to tow the nationalistic patriotism that is peddled by Republicans this is a free country for everyone, not just them.

Roland Martin’s commentary went to include:

This has totally gotten out of hand, but instead of trying to castigate Obama and tar and feather him, the Republicans should look inward and look at how their actions have seriously harmed this nation.

The Republicans ran Congress for six years. The Republicans have held the White House for the last eight years. The Republicans have advanced the deregulation agenda that played a major role in creating the financial mess we are currently in.

The Republicans have led the foreign policy we have in place that has destroyed the moral authority we once held. Their president is one of the most unpopular in history, so bad that he and Vice President Dick Cheney can’t even come out of the White House to campaign on behalf of McCain because they are so reviled by Americans.

Can someone please remind these folks of this?

Every campaign says they want the election to be about the issues, but when McCain’s campaign manager Rick Davis made it clear that they want it to be about character and not issues, well, we should have realized we would get to this point.

As I have blogged about in the past the day the McCain campaign took a follow the leader strategy, first Hillary’s, which was about experience, but had to abandon when John McCain put Sarah Palin on the ticket. Then McCain took the next follow the leader strategy when he stole Obama’s message of change. John McCain stole two follow the leader strategies which are known not to work: lesson number one in business school. John McCain sealed the deal of a losing candidate when he took the low road and adopted the final strategy of a loser when he took the personal attack strategy. Only someone behind takes that approach and this election year Americans, independents especially do not want to hear. We want to hear about the issues, but McCain cannot win on the issues either.

  1. It’s time for Americans to wake up and vote for the right candidate!
The right candidate is NOT John Mccain/Palin.
People need to realise that Mccain/Palin don’t have a clue what they are talking about, it’s all nonsense. They attack other opponents without knowing the true ideas and facts.
And you know what, Americans are not all like Joe the Plummer, because the real Joe the Plummer is an unlicensed plummer and he did NOT pay his taxes.
Citizens of dozens of foreign countries prefer Barack Obama over John McCain as our next president by a margin of almost 4 to 1, according to a massive poll conducted by the Gallup Organization. About 30 percent of those surveyed prefer Obama, while just 8 percent favor McCain.

  2. So I just want to make sure I get this straight when Sen. McCain goes on the defensive, he is called out for name calling but when the Obama camp all but calls Sen McCain a racist nothing is said at all. Are you kidding me? Really whine, whine whine,…. Of course when Sen. McCain tells the truth he is accused of name calling. THAT IS LAUGHABLE… Please read this excepts from an article by Dr. Thomas Sowell
    “Believers in Obama
    by Thomas Sowell
Telling a friend that the love of his life is a phony and dangerous is not likely to get him to change his mind. But it may cost you a friend.
It is much the same story with true believers in Barack Obama. They have made up their minds and not only don’t want to be confused by the facts, they resent being told the facts.
When one thinks of all the men who have put their lives on the line in battle to defend and preserve this country, it is especially painful to think that there are people living in the safety and comfort of civilian life who cannot be bothered to find out the facts about candidates before voting to put the fate of this nation, and of generations yet to come, in the hands of someone chosen because they like his words or style.
Some of Senator Obama’s most fervent supporters could not tell you what he has actually done on such issues as crime, education, or financial institutions like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, much less what he plans to do to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear nation supplying nuclear weapons to the international terrorist networks that it has supplied with other weapons.
The public has been told very little about what this man with the wonderful rhetoric has actually done. What we know is enough to make us wonder about what we don’t know. Or it ought to. For the true believers– which includes many in the media– it is just a question of whether you like him or not. “

  3. Ronnie, you like most other republicans are like little puppets on a string led by McLiar & VP pig with lipstick! What has your erraric candidate done for regular middle class people? He has been in officve for 26 years! he has never uttered the word middle class nor shown that he even knows they exist!

He has never had any policies that will actually help the middle class or proposed anything that resembles help for regualr people!
You talk about Obama getting a pass McShame is the one getting a pass & has received a pass through out his 26 year career! Just because he’s a POW does not mean he’s entitled to be president!

If being a POW means you are automatically fit to be president, then most of the homeless vets on skid row are fit to be president, they probably have more integrity that McShame!

You need to look at your so called candidate’s record yourself. Expalin to me why he continues to vote against things that will actually benefit Veterans when he was one himself? Seems he doesn’t care about them after all he has 7 houses & 11 cars!

His wife Cindy had the nerve to state that she would like Senator Obama to walk in her shoes to see how it feels when he voted agains funding her son, yet her son’s very own father also voted against funding his own son because there was a time line on the bill that would actually bring his son & others home sooner! What kind of sense does that make?

I would ask Cindy McCain to walk in the shoes of the many mothers who have LOST their sons because of a war based on lies launched by a clown of a president with the blessing of her mis-guided husbnad! You republicans & your idiot candidate like to talk about how McShame has good judgement, this the same man that voted 90% with Bush, picked an unqualified VP, and is now running a smear campaign because he as nothing concrete to offer to the people of this country. So far his moves in this campaign & so called jusdgment has been in the tank!

This is an erratic bumbubbling IDIOT! no one in their right mind would elect him dog catcher much more president! The hippocracy in the republican party is nausiating! The good decent people of America are tired of it!

It’s time we have an intelligent, decent & handlsome president to represent us thorughout the world rather than the dumb dishonest eye soar presidents we have had on the republican side, this disgrace would only continue with McShame.

It’s time for McLiar to retire, it’s obvious his brain alreay has!! LIAR LIAR MCCAIN’S DEPENDS ARE ON FIRE!!!!!

  4. THE NEW DEAL made America strong enough to win World War II.

THE GREAT SOCIETY made America great enough to go to the moon.

REAGANOMICS destroyed that strength and greatness letting Gordon Gecko run free.

Obama is not a Socialist, and what he proposes is not Socialism.

The only Socialist in the race for the White House is Sarah Palin.
Alaska’s Windfall Profit Tax = Redistribution of wealth, earned by Entrepenuers.

What we have under W., and what REAGANOMICS essentially is, is a system
akin to Feudal Europe, which is what America’s founding fathers fought for
Independence from in the first place.

And just as the Palin’s fight for Alaskan Independence,
Obama fights for America’s Independence from Gordon Gecko,
and the Republican party which would turn the U.S.A. into
The Peoples Republic Of America so they could run it just like their
    heroes run China.
