McCain Can’t Run on the Issues

In prior blogs I have written that McCain lost the argument about experience when he put Sarah Palin on the ticket. I went on to write that when the McCain campaign took on a message of change. First McCain used Hillary Clinton’s approach to dealing with Obama, when that did not work he stole Obama’s message of change. Both of those strategies did not work and they did not work because they are follow the leader strategies that are proven not to work. That is lesson number one in business school. It has been born out in the national polls and the Electoral College polls, both of which McCain is losing ground in and quite badly. The final step is to go on the attack, a strategy that is taken on by the campaign that is behind; another known tactic of a campaign in trouble. The McCain campaign is now on their third campaign slog: “Country First: Reform * Prosperity * Peace”; thus, reinforcing that they do not have a winning strategy for their campaign. The McCain campaign has become erratic and desperate.

Yesterday Palin made a wild claim and accusation about Obama that has been proven wrong in the past when Hillary Clinton tried to use it against Obama; the McCain campaign still has not learned that repeating lies over and over does not make it the truth and that the follower the leader strategy does not work.

The McCain campaign cannot run on the issues because they do not know what they are, they can only run on lies. If the lies are not theirs, then they steal them from someone else. On the other hand Obama can run on the issues, which he proved today in a rally in Asheville, North Carolina.

A candidate’s track record, and associations are always a legitimate issue when running for President. Let’s take a look at the qualifications, judgement, and experience of Obama, who is running for President. Obama had 25 years to fulfill the potential he displayed as a rising start at Harvard Law School … and, how did he live up to that potential? … He chose to align himself with anti-American racist, Jeremiah Wright for TWENTY YEARS … along with Ferrahkan, Rezko, Ayers, and others. As a community organizer, he registered thousands of voters in Chicago … then, when he ran for the state legislature, he took away their votes, by disqualifying his opponent (a black woman) on a technicality. As a U.S. Senator, he voted present 160 times … he never called a meeting on the Afghanistan committee he chaired (although he NOW says we must shift all our military from Iraq to Afghanistan). He claimed Foreign Policy experience from a 9 day whirlwind photo op to 6 countries. And, he spent almost half of his tenure neglecting his responsibilities as a U.S. Senator, so he could run for President. Senator McCain served America honorably for 22 years in the military. He proved his love for America, as well as his honor, integrity and character, by refusing early release as a P.O.W., even while being tortured. He served America as a ‘contributing’ U.S. Senator, working across the aisle, for 20 years. If Obama’s Twentyfive year track record shows he lacks judgement, and can’t be trusted, who cares what he says about Health Care and the Economy! What Obama never learned is Character. He simply can’t be trusted … ask Jeremiah Wright, a friend of 20 years, who Obama betrayed for personal ambition … and, you Obama supporters really think he won’t betray you If he gets elected??? If he gets elected, you Obama supporters will be facing a HUGE disillusionment !!!

  3. Obama associates with KNOWN terrorists in secret… what’s that about? Hiding something perhaps? International (Hamas leadership in secret) and Bill Ayers (Domestic) and even sits on a Board with Ayers. His former Paster is racist and he attended that church for several years. Ya, Obama’s “Change” is NOT what we need or are prepared for. We are at a historic time and situation where real change is needed, but not from him. McCain/ Palin ARE aware that change is desperately needed and it will come swiftly. Obama’s acquaintance’s need to be looked into, the mainstream media won’t dare touch it because he’s their golden boy, but the truth will come out soon enough.

  4. Howard, if McCain were so concerned about the US he would not have chosen Palin. She is under investigation for abuse of power that she is now trying run from, has lied repeated about everything she done while in any elected office. She attends a a church that invites a known witch hunter to where he has “prayed over her” and she brags about this. John McCain has missed two thirds of his votes to run for office. He left his first wife when he returned to the US only to marry an heiress, so he could run for office. He talks about reducing pork barrel spending, but does not criticize his running mate for it and just signed a bill with $150 million in pork. He flip floss on the economy. he hasn’t voted eleven times against veteran’s benefits in the last two years because good benefits might “encourage more of them to leave the army,” John McCain has mislead and lied so many to the public that Republicans don’t know the difference between the truth, a lie, or smear campaign. It’s because the latter that America is in the position that is in.

  5. Ret Polly, they need to look into Palin’s associates, Obama’s already was during the primary, or do you have selective memory.

  6. I guess it wouldn’t be a stretch to believe that it was the Mccain campaign as the ones who have been circulating Obama as a Muslim, and all of the other smears we’ve been seeing for almost two years now. Mccain pretty much cornered the propaganda market on this issue, and seems to be coming out of the closet with it now, openly embracing the notion of him having as much of a connection to Al-Queda as Iraq.

    Mccain is desparate.
I wonder if Mccain thinks Obama has W.M.D.s?

  7. McCain concerns with American people is very well described in the article below. I suggest it to everyone and perhaps forward it too. Now I know the truly hero he is and everyone should know. We all will be able to cast our vote well knowing what it will bring to America.

I feel very sorry for you, and I hope you wake up and smell the coffee before it’s too late.

    But you won’t.
