It is official the 2008 Presidential Campaign has gone south. There are candidates who have gone completely off their rockers, along with their surrogates. Let us start with the surrogates.

Carly Fiorina, a top McCain official, is facing criticism from some within the campaign. Why? For making the following comment:

Asked by a St. Louis radio station whether she thought Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin could run a company like Hewlett-Packard, Fiorina responded: “No, I don’t.

“But that’s not what she’s running for. Running a corporation is a different set of things.”

As if that was not enough, she kept digging and added Republican presidential nominee, John McCain to her comment. She did not leave off Democratic nominees Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

So then, according to Carly Fiorina the ticket that she is representing cannot run a company that is worth $1 billion dollar, but we should trust them to run a country with a $14 trillion economy? Evidently, McCain was furious with her and she will now “disappear”.

McCain’s senior top advisor tried, during an interview, to stress McCain’s experience with economics. When pressed to give an example he stated that McCain played a large role in deregulating and regulating the telecommunications market. He held up his Blackberry and said, “He did this.”

Sure, and Al Gore invented the internet too.

Allies of Sarah Palin have filed suit to stop the “partisan” investigation into the firing of her public service commission. Evidently, it is “McCarthyistic” never mind that that the “partisan” Legislative Council is made up of four Democrats and eight Republicans who voted unanimously to investigate Palin’s dismissal of the Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan.

Next we will all be hearing how this is a vast left wing conspiracy.

Really, Sarah Palin, why not just come out and say, “I’m guilty” because stunts like this is exactly what it is screaming.

Not to be out done is Libertarian Presidential and former Republican Congressman, Bob Barr, who wants both John McCain and Barack Obama removed from the Texas ballot for the general election this November. Why? Because neither had been formally nominated by their respective parties in time to be eligible to be on the ballot for the general election. Bob Barr filed a law suit in the Texas Supreme Court in Austin.

Fine, Bob, tell you what, you can have the state of Texas, we do not want it anyway. In Fact, go ahead and return Texas to an independent country. We need the relief.
