Talk About the Issues for a Change

I had planned on staying out of this one, but, frankly, I have grown tired of the phony outrage coming out of the McCain campaign over this. McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, have engaged in lie after lie, day after day, without question and then cry foul if they are called out for their tactics. The term “Lipstick on a Pig” is a commonly used term, not a sexist term, like the McCain campaign is screaming. Their sudden embracement of feminism is simply a convenience and not a truth.

Here is video of John McCain calling one of Hilary Clinton’s plan’s “lipstick on a pig”.

Here is video of Dick Cheney using the same phrase.

The truth is that the McCain campaign can dish it out, but they cannot take it. What exacerbates the problem with the McCain Campaign is that few are questioning their elitism, with no one being able to seriously question them about their daily onslaught of lies because they hide behind their phony outrage, not least including Sarah Palin who does not give interviews, even though she is a public servant, she grants interviews as if she is above reproach; frankly, Joseph Goebbels would be proud of them for this tactic.

The truth is the American public are the ones who are losing out because of this, not the fragile arrogance of the McCain campaign. It has become blatantly obvious the McCain campaign cannot run on their policies, their plans, or the issues because they do not have any and we the American voters are the ones to lose out over this.

Well it is long overdue in this silly season that American voters demand to hear what the issues are and not the daily onslaught of viciousness that comes out of the mouth of a campaign that wants to lead us. So far they have proven they cannot. The Obama Campaign can turn the silly season around and win the election by talking about the issues, which is what we need and today he started doing that.

  1. I couldn’t agree with your blog more. The sad thing is that the Republican’s are always using fear tactics and lies and will use anything within their power to win. That’s pretty sad. They are really distorting the truth. I hope the American Public will stop acting as sheep and really get involved and see the snow job the Republican party is trying to pull right now!!

  2. I am, for the first time, ashamed to be an American participating in this Animal Farm election… The MSM should also me ashamed for instigating this mess, all for ratings. If by chance my choice of candidate happens to win this election I will be still be sadly disapointed because it will equate to winning a coin toss… and we as Americans should be smarter than that.

  3. I am as much or more disgusted with the media as I am with the republicans. The media let us down after 9/11 and did not call our goverrnment to the carpet when we entered into the Iraqi war because of alleged wmd which were never found. We now have a very important election coming up, and media doesn’t focus on the fact that a woman who is held up to be a heartbeat away from the presidency and may be expected to deal with foreign diplomats and expected to answer hard questions and make tough decisions, can’t even take questions from the media in her own country. Rather, the media focuses on ridiculous comments such as “lipstick on a pig” and spends precious news time on these issues rather than press the candidates on where the stand on important issues such as health care, economy, war, freedom of reproductive choice, jobs for americans, do I need to go on? The media would rather force the candidates to continue to spend their time clarifying their comments on minutia.

  4. HOW DO WE GET THE NEWS PEOPLE WHO ARE FOLLWOING THESE FUTURE LEADERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TO TIE THEM DOWN. ASH THE TOUGH QUESTIONS, GET STRAIGHT ANSWERS, KEEP ASKING TILL THEY DO GET THE STRAIGHT ANSWERS AND NOT LET THEM DISTRACT THE MEDIA OR THE AMERICAN VOTER? CAN ANYONE TELL ME THAT? BETTER YET TELL IT TO THE MEDIA, REPORTS, NEWSPAPERS AND CANIDATES. WE NEED TO KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE WHO ARE GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH CONTROL OVER OUR FUTURE. THE REPUBLICANS STOLE THE ELECTION THE LAST TWO TIME WIHT THIS KIND OF SWIFT BOATING. WE CAN’T LET THEM DO IT AGAIN. AMEIRCA WON’T SERVIVE IF WE DO.

  5. Even though, Obama and McCain are both continuing this vicious cycle of arguements [which is inevitable in politics anyways], I’ll be voting for Obama because he appears to be the lesser of the two evils. But that’s besides the point. The point is that if the Republicans win the election a third time around, the first thing you’ll see me do after Nov 4 is pack my bags and head to Germany with my girlfriend.
